How We Choose Products

Last updated: October 9, 2026

Every product on this site is a real item sold on Amazon. Here is the standard a product has to meet before we feature it, and what we do once it is on a page.

Our bar for new picks

  • Well rated. 4.5 stars or higher on Amazon.
  • Many reviews. At least 300 reviews where possible, so the rating reflects many buyers, not a handful.
  • In stock. The listing is live and the item can be bought on the day we add it.
  • No repeated quality complaints. We read the reviews, including the critical ones and Amazon’s review summary, and pass on products where the same problem keeps coming up, such as colors far from the photos, items arriving broken, or sizing that runs badly off.

Gowns are judged differently

Wedding gowns on Amazon get far fewer reviews than a candle holder or a gift set, and fit is personal. For gowns we accept 4.3 stars and up, and we pay close attention to what reviewers say about sizing, fabric, and how close the dress looks to its photos. Our gown guides explain the fit and sizing cautions we found.

Checked on Amazon, the way you would see it

Since October 2026, we open each new listing in a real web browser before it goes on a page. We confirm the page loads, the item is available to buy, and the details we mention, such as size, set count, colors and materials, match the listing. If the listing does not say it, we do not claim it.

Re-checked, and removed if unavailable

Listings change. Sellers run out, change a product or take it down. We re-check products when we build or update a page that features them, and we run a check across the whole catalog from time to time. When a check finds that Amazon has removed a product or marked it unavailable, we take it off our pages.

We set this bar in October 2026. Products we added before then stay on their pages while they are still available, and we add newer picks that meet the bar alongside them.

Honest cautions

Our product guides say who a product suits and who it may not, and what to check before you order: sizing, colors that can vary from the photos, assembly, materials, delivery time, and whether personalized items can be returned. Where a claim comes from the seller rather than from us, we say so.

Why our guides do not show prices or star ratings

Prices on Amazon change often, and ratings move as new reviews come in. A number copied onto our page could be wrong by the time you read it, and Amazon’s rules for Associates limit how prices can be shown. So we leave them off and send you to the listing, where the current price and rating are shown. Please check both before you buy.

What a pick is, and what it is not

  • Not paid placement. We are not paid by brands to feature products. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases; our Affiliate Disclosure explains how.
  • Not a hands-on test. We do not test these products ourselves. Our picks are based on the listing, the reviews and our judgement about what works at a wedding, and we would rather say so plainly.
  • Real product, AI scene. Scenes showing a product in use are AI-styled examples. The real product photo is the one beside the “View on Amazon” button.
