AI Wedding Inspiration earns money from some of the links on this site. This page explains how, in plain language.
Amazon Associates
AI Wedding Inspiration takes part in the Amazon Associates program. Amazon’s required statement is:
“As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.”
On our pages we say “we” instead of “I”: “As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.” It means that when you click one of our links to Amazon and then buy something, Amazon may pay us a small commission. The price you pay is the same as if you had gone to Amazon on your own.
How our links work
- Each Amazon link carries a code (our Associates tag, aiweddinginsp-20), so Amazon knows you came from us. We also label these links as sponsored for search engines, as they ask.
- They appear in our product guides, gift guides and shop pages, and in the wedding planner. Our guides and shop pages show a short disclosure before the first Amazon link.
- “View on Amazon” opens the product page. On some products that come in only one option, an “Add to Amazon cart” button adds that item to your Amazon cart. Nothing is bought until you check out on Amazon.
- Our newer videos, pins and social posts link to pages on this website, where the Amazon links and this disclosure live, rather than straight to Amazon. Some older pins link straight to Amazon; those are affiliate links too.
How commissions are counted, in general terms
Amazon decides what counts as a qualifying purchase and how much it pays, and its rules can change. In general terms:
- After you click one of our links, a purchase you make on Amazon within the next 24 hours can count.
- If you add an item to your Amazon cart during those 24 hours, buying it later can still count, as long as you check out within 89 days of the click.
Amazon sets these windows, not us. Amazon’s reports show us which items were ordered, but never your name, address or payment details.
What a commission does and does not change
- It does not change your price.
- We are not paid by brands to feature products. Our new picks have to meet the standard on our How We Choose Products page.
- Our guides include honest cautions, including reasons a product may not suit you, because a pick that disappoints you helps no one.
- Our guides and shop pages do not show prices or star ratings, because they change on Amazon. Please check both on the listing before you buy.
Other ways the site earns money
- Ads. We may show ads from Google AdSense. Google chooses which ads appear; we do not pick individual ads. Our Privacy Policy explains the cookies involved.
- The wedding planner. Our planner is free to start, with an optional one-time upgrade. Payments are handled by Stripe, a payment company.
